The private treatment room and colon hydrotherapy equipment at Vestta Whole Health Center

What is colon hydrotherapy?

Colon hydrotherapy, also called a colonic or colonic irrigation, introduces warm filtered water into the colon through a closed system. At Vestta, Archer guides your session personally, with single-use equipment and time to discuss what to expect.

Your first visit includes an intake conversation about your health history, medications and questions. You can ask to slow down, pause or stop at any time.

What we’ll discuss

  • Your goals and reasons for considering a session
  • Any digestive symptoms and existing diagnoses
  • Medications, past surgery and advice from your healthcare provider
  • What to expect and whether the service is appropriate for you

What your visit looks like.

Your comfort and consent guide every step.

  1. Talk it through

Discuss your health history, questions and comfort level. Archer explains the session before you decide to proceed.

  2. Settle in privately

Get comfortable in the treatment room. Your single-use equipment and the closed system are explained before use.

  3. Set your pace

Warm filtered water is introduced gradually. Tell Archer how you feel throughout, and ask to pause whenever you need.

  4. Take your time

Have a private moment afterwards and discuss any follow-up questions before you leave.

Suitability comes before a session.

Colon cleansing can cause serious side effects, and evidence for general health or detox benefits is limited. A health-history discussion is part of deciding whether to proceed, not a guarantee of safety.

NCCIH identifies greater risk in people with gastrointestinal disease, colon surgery, severe haemorrhoids, kidney disease or heart disease. Discuss these and any other concerns with a qualified healthcare professional before booking.

Digestive symptoms need appropriate assessment. A colonic does not diagnose their cause or replace prescribed care. You can read more about evidence and risks in the safety guide.
