What happens before a first colonic?
Vestta’s intake conversation covers your medical history, current medications and reasons for considering colon hydrotherapy. Archer also asks about your questions and comfort with the procedure. Bring any guidance you’ve received from your healthcare professional.
An intake is a chance to discuss suitability. It doesn’t replace a medical assessment or diagnose the cause of digestive symptoms. Tell Archer about previous bowel surgery, diagnosed conditions and symptoms that haven’t been checked. Mention supplements as well as prescription medicines.

What does a closed-system session involve?
Vestta’s closed system introduces warm filtered water into the colon through equipment Archer explains before use. Colon hydrotherapy is also called colonic irrigation. The name describes the water-based procedure; it doesn’t establish a medical benefit.
Archer guides the session in the treatment room shown on this page. Single-use equipment is part of the setup. Ask which components are disposable, how the remaining equipment is cleaned and how the water flow is controlled. You should understand the process in plain language.
An appointment includes more than the water portion. There is time for your intake, an explanation of the equipment and questions afterwards. Check the full appointment duration when booking, especially for a first visit. The length of an appointment shouldn’t be read as the amount of time water is flowing.
How private is the appointment?
Colonic appointments at Vestta take place one-to-one with Archer in a private treatment room. The original room photograph gives you a view of the space before you arrive.
Ask about positioning, clothing and how you will be covered during the procedure. If you have specific privacy or access needs, discuss them before booking. That gives you a chance to understand the arrangement and decide whether it suits you.
You can be direct about feeling uncertain. Saying that you’d like something explained again is enough. You don’t need to know the names of the equipment to ask how it will be used.
What can you ask during the session?
You can ask Archer to slow down, pause or stop the session at any time. Consent continues throughout the visit, after the first explanation and once the procedure has started.
Tell Archer promptly if you feel discomfort or notice something that concerns you. Ask what sensations to discuss immediately and how you will communicate during the procedure. Don’t wait until the end to speak up.
You can also change your mind. Understanding a service and choosing to have it are separate decisions. Make sure the explanation answers your questions before you proceed.

A first appointment also doesn’t establish a need for a series of sessions. Discuss any proposed follow-up and the reasons for it. Your decision should take account of your health professional’s advice and the limited evidence for general cleansing benefits.
